Help question with ball joint change.
I am replacing the lower joints on my 02 F150. I have them removed
already, and now need to put the new ones in. I rented a ball joint press
that came with no instructions, and this being my first time i have some questions. When inserting the new one what do you press on? Do you insert the clamp around the stud and press on the body of the joint? If so, do you remove the boot to not cut it or is it tough enough? Any tricks you can provide? Or is there a better way? Thanks

There should be a "lip" on the bottom of the ball joint that your press engages (about 1/4" from the snap ring groove.
One trick that might help is to put the ball joints in the freezer to "shrink" them a bit before you press them.
