Aftermarket CD Player
I asked this in the audio forum but got nothing, I have a 97 F-250 LD 4x4 Ext. cab. I installed a Alpine CDA-9856 using a wire harness and all that like you are supposed to do. i have installed countless car stereos and never had one do this. When I power it up I get a pop from the speakers like I can hear the juice when it kicks in. I'm sure its a simple fix but time is money these days and I have neither in a sense. Anyone got any knowledge please share.

I do now, but i was getting the surge prior to even installing the amp its just now the woofer thumps when i turn it on then its fine. I had just the deck for a few months without an amp tho.

It sounds like you have some sort of interference with the speaker wires and the power wire. Since you used the factory wiring harness I am not sure what to tell you other than putting one of those filters on the speaker wires.
