I'd back up and start at the top. You say the motor turns over slowly but the engine is warmed by a heater so give the battery a boost with a correctly configured jump - connecting the positive of the two batteries together and the negative of the helping battery to the engine block of your 352. This will eliminate the question of battery delivery of enough amps. Make sure all connections are good, re-tighten battery posts, solenoid connections, starter connection, and ground to block wires. A lot of current carrying capacity can be lost in small gauge wires and poor or moderate connections. Once the motor spins over faster, then you can troubleshoot the other items. BTW, you can check dwell during cranking, without the engine running and you can set timing to the degree without even running the engine (on a points-driven distributor).
We're back to normal, put a new starter in, the truck started better than normal! Thank you guys for your help on this subject, you guys gave me your 2 cents, so here's mine; the NAPA reman's don't even last over a year!
Thanks again guys, the verdict was once again a new starter...now i'll keep my eyes open to the forum and add my comments when i can.
