funny, most of these compaints come from people who never ran a k&n filter.they filter just fine, in fct, the more they filter the better they filter. i have used the on everythingfrom my big trucks to harleys and cars and trucks with no filter related problems. no pre-mature engine wear etc. clean oil tests etc. as for the oil used in them hurting the turbo? what a bunch of bs. any tiny bit of oil getting into the engine has no efect whatsoever on the turbo. it just flys right thru and ends up being burnt in the combustion process. i feel there are too many people throwing non-sense around about diesel engines when they have no experience with them. kind of like the harley folk. these are nuthing but a diesel engine that is in a pick-up truck. nothing magical about them or exoctic. they are subject to faliure and problems like anything mechnical. the vast majority will need nothing but oil changes and filters for 100,000 miles or more. fram makes an excelent replacement filter set up fr the 6.0 that uses a rectanguler flat paper filter that is way cheaper to replace than the oem filter. i think i payed under 140 buck for it and it took half an hour to install. the filter minder showed the same vacume reading as the oem filter did. im going back to the store that sold me the first one when my 6.4 gets a few miles on it. ford told me that it did not void warrenty.

I also would not use K&N. Allows too much contamination through the filter. Talk to any mechanic.

I have turned wrenches now for a number of years, and i have seen where k&n filters have ruined motors. All they are is bug screens in my opinion. The k&n filter uses oil to filter the dirt out, but the turbo sucks the oil out of the filter...than you just have a filter that has large pores for dirt and crap to get sucked through. I don't mind k&n if it's on a street car that gets driven a few hundred miles a yr, but on a daily driver, i don't recommend it. You would be amazed at how much dirt it will let through. It all comes down to wether u wanna risk it or not. I'd say no, escpecially if your gunna be driving on dusty roads.

The oil in the filter screws up the sensor in the mass air flow sensor. Got to keep it clean.

Okay! I get it.

I am very clear about how yall feel about K&N and I have confidence in what yall are saying. However, when it comes time to replace my air filter, what brand would you suggest?

Stay with what you have. It is a excellent filter system that you can not go wrong with.

ok before this gets out of hand, to answer the orginal question, No, K&N does not make an air filter, they do make an oil filter though but they will make one soon, i know S&B is also a good filter and i believe one for the 08 will be available soon also

We have even quit using them in our Racing Program. We have found dirt inside the the carburator and intake manifold too many times running the K&N. Super Late Models engines are too expensive too put a crap filter like K&N on a 35K engine. They may be fine for a passenger vehicle but not on mine!

weird...I've never had a problem with a K&N filter either. As far as ruining motors...that seems pretty far fetched and I'd question the reasoning. If you don't clean them often enough then yea I could see it happening, but a single drop-in filter aint gonna blow an engine. I've used after market filters all my life, I've only had good out of them.

I know AFE makes a filter kit, but not sure about a drop in. It's at www.motorhaven.com

Anyways, just my 2 cents.
