anyone know the website or have any information on a company that makes all aluminum boss 429 blocks/heads? i had the information a few months ago but seem to have misplaced it, any help would be appreciated!
Hey, check the ford motorsport catalog, I cannot find mine, but I think they have access to a company or two that sells them. If you want to see something interesting concerning boss 429 equipment that is for sale, look for ENDYN, Engine Dynamics( I have not figured out how to put website references on here yet...oops). This company is both the reason that Bob Glidden started dominating pro stock with the pro-stock boss, and the reason that Bob started getting his rear-end spanked by Dodge starting with the 1990 NHRA prostock season. It makes for some intersting reading, and the company might be a good place to get some heads and/or other equipment. This company has taken the boss head to the next level, by fixing all of its' faults and improving on the basic design.
They also have some other areas on the site where the company owner built a totally illegal T-bird to race in Pro-stock, but with the use of deceptive body work and about 12 different shades of white paint, actually got it to pass thru tech.....
Well, oops. Ford definitely started stiffing him(do I detect a trend?), ENDYN did not actually take away his goodies, they just simply helped his competitors(along with strong factory support wanting to dominate pro-stock), and Bob could not keep up. No big secrets, I like Bob and think he is a nice guy, even though he actually yelled at me in 1997 at a track in Woodburn, Oregon, when I had him sign a bent up air cleaner lid(before yelling, he actually thought it was pretty funny). He set down the trophy he won(I think it was the last time he won a race, it was a match race thing and he beat warren in the finals) on the barrier surrounding the tree. I kept my attention on the trophy because it was only halfway on top of the barrier, other half off, and it looked like it was going to fall. He did not notice, and opened my pen to sign the lid anyway. Of course the slow motion thing happened, the trophy fell, and broke a big chunk off of the top(it was a prostock engine shaped trophy). He dropped to the ground and started picking up the pieces, and was not in the happiest of moods doing so. I was debating whether to run or apologize, but he soon stood up, signed the lid, handed it back to me, and then promptly declared(in language that would not be very appropriate in church, or on a sailing vessel, for that matter) that he would not sign anything else until he got back to the trailer. I do not think it was my fault that it broke, it was a simple mistake, but I still feel guilty, anyway. That was my first and last attempt to try to meet anyone famous. I could probably try again, just as long as they keep their trophies out of sight.....
