I'm just wondering if my truck is louder than normal. At 70 mph I hear a lot of road and wind noise, so much that I can barely hear the engine and it's hard to hold a conversation. I can't pinpoint one single leaky door gasket or anything. Maybe it's all of them. I hate to spend $100+ on new door and window gaskets only to find out it's just the truck. Is this normal?
Do they sell any reasonable priced sound dampening materials, spray on or stick on?
have you pulled your door panels? sometimes when someone services a window motor they leave the insulation behind the panel out. you will always hear some road noise but it shouldnt be that bad
Check the small vent window. The triangel shaped one. I get a lot of wind noise, thought it was the door. Just found out that when the windows closed there is a big gap on the outside. Not sure about a fix. Did not get into it yet.
I have the same problem. Wind noise seems to be coming from everywhere at high speeds. Most of my weatherstripping is worn out, especially around the windows. Its really hard to pinpoint it too. Recently I took the truck on a trip. On the highway it was so bad I pulled over and duck tapped the seams of the vent windows. It helped some. Those are in the worst shape of all I think. One of these days im going to have to break down and buy all new weatherstripping from lmctruck.
Ive heard of people taking the weatherstripping off the doors and stuffing backer rod in them. This I guess reforms worn, flattened weatherstripping. You can get backer rod at any home improvement store. Its used for filling gaps around windows and doors as a backer for caulking.

Just go to a junk yard .. does not matter that much what model vehicle. For a few bucks you can pry the seals out of the wings and re-apply. Just get ones a bit longer than originals. Worked for me on my 90 F-250 7.5L gasser. Also worked on the windows seals.
