No power

Need some adivise with a 302 and aod tranny. I can put the throttle to the floor and it struggles to get to highway speed. I can put it into neutral and the engine will rev up, but it won't transfer it to drive. Any ideas?????????????

There's alot of places to start looking. Has it had a tune up, plugs, wires, cap, rotor, air and fuel filter?
Maybe do a compresion check and see what the compression is. Has it been sitting for a long time, and the fuel got nasty????

HAVE DONE THE PLUGS, WIRES, INJECTOR FLUSH, RAN IT THROUGH 2 HALF TANKS OF FUEL. fLUSHED THE TRANNY AND PUT IN A NEW FILTER. IT RUNS PRETTY STRONG UNTIL IT GETS WARMED UP, LONGER IT RUNS THE LESS POWER IT HAS.

I have A 1996 F150 shortbox 4x4 with a 300 straight 6 with 4 speed auto. I was having the same problem with not havin power once warmed up. Turned out that my catillac converter was plug up and putting back pressure on engine! It was good when cold out but once it got to a hotter temp. that is when I had problems like kept losing speed could not keep it in overdrive...
