79Bronco won't start
I recently bought a 79 Bronco with a rebuilt 351M engine in it. Earlier this week I went to get it and it had no gas in it and it was on New Years so all the litttle service stations are closed. Today I put about 8 gallons in it, the guage shows a little above E. The truck still would not start. If I pour a little gas in the carb it will fire and run a few seconds. The Bronco is setting at a pretty steep angle. Do you think that it is setting at a steep enough angle that the pump isnt picking up the fuel, since it doesnt have much in it? The guy I bought it from said he will put some more gas in it and use his other truck to pull it onto level ground and get it started for me. I didnt take any tools with me so I could take off the gas line and see if the pump was pumping fuel because the guy said I probably wouldnt have trouble gettin it started. Im thinking its probably just to low on fuel to start at that angle. I really wanna hurry up and get this thing home.

Went through that a couple weeks ago with my 79 F150. Knew I was low on gas. There was just enough of an incline that the gas tube in the tank wasn't in gasoline.
You're better off getting it to level ground if you can. Take some more fresh gas with you. Sounds like you could also have a fuel pump problem if it still won't run on its own.

Here in the next couple weeks Ill go try it again, the guy I bought it from thinks the fuel being low and it being parked on an incline is the problem also. The last couple days where I live at for some unGodly reason it has been in the 50s and 60s and the ground has thawed out and is like a swamp. So I might have to weight a while.
