cleaning soot
This isn't exactly a 7.3 question, but what do you guys use to clean the soot off the paint about the tail pipe. Mine is getting to the point that it's bothering me.

a good wheel cleaner (eagle one)takes it off my chrome tip inside and out with out hesitation...it does say not to use on paint though..with that said i use easy off oven cleaner to take the road paint off of my truck..just cant keep it on for too long..it will dull the paint..

Sometimes it's good to have a spouse whoes also a MENSA member... her suggestion: Windex, yep Windex. I tested it on a small spot first and the heavy soot deposits just wiped right off. I just did the whole area and even used it to clean the corner of my chrome bumper and it all came out great. I wiped it all down with soap and water afterward just encase as a neutralizer, but I don't think that was nessesary. Quick, cheap and something most of us have under the sink.
