I'm thinking about running Royal Purple in my Sterling rear diff. (99 F250) I'd like to hear some comments from those who are using it. Also, I've heard you don't need to add friction modifier to it. True or no?
The RP meets the Ford spec as the OEM is synthetic.I f you have a L/S diff i would start by running the RP and see if you have chatter. If you do add 2 oz modifier.
I have run RP in the rear end of the F250 for the past 50K miles so far, in 75-140 wt. They do make that wt. Never added any FM and do have an LS. I like it so far, seems to do a good job.
