Ive got a 99 tahoe lite fifth wheel Im not sure of the trailer weight but my 70 3/4 ton gimmy did ok my problem is weather to rebuild or go crate? With the chevy and gmc trucks it was easy to find parts but this thing is some what diffrent. it has a dana 70 with 4:10 gears and a c-6 it has the extended wheelbase and spare tire holder on the side. Im told there werent many of these built. Any help anyone can provide would be greatly appreciated

I don't know much personaly about that particular model but there are those on this forum who do. There are a few members who have that model. And I believe your correct, they are somewhat rare. This site has a search feature in each forum that you can use to find specific information and answers to some of your questions. It has been a big help to me.
Crate or rebuild? Ummm...I don't know. I guess it might depend on what you want out of your engine. Performance, torque monster, daily driver. It sounds like your looking for a tow motor. Of course how much money you got to burn, er spend is a factor. Keep us posted and good luck.
EDIT: Do you live near the coast? Coos Bay perhaps?
