I'm not alloud in the US anymore.. Stupid sh** from a kid. I got busted for 2 joints in the 80's and did 30 days. Thanks to Dubya, and homeland security BS. As of January 1 2007, I can't legally enter the us, without first getting a US waiver (yes I have a Canadian Pardon). I have applied 3 times for a Waiver, and its been denied @ $365USD each, it is too expensive to play the money game.

Woaw what was the reason they denied you for the waiver?

I think I have a few things on file from when i was 17 or 18, and ahve always wondered how hard it would be to do all the pardedning and stuff.

A relative called me today from Texas who attended the Houston auto show that's on this week. A truck at my local dealer costs about $20 k more than what they're asking at the auto show . Wtf. Then again, the local dealer is asking about $15 k more for a similar truck that I estimated using the Ford Canada website calculator. Wtf x 2. So a $20 k difference = No brainer, buy from the states? And don't buy from my dealer? Can anyone comment on why prices in Canada are so out of whack, b/c I can't figure it out.

Prices in Canada are higher than the US because of the resale market. Just think of all the used vehicles out there. If Canada lowered their prices to par with the US, everyone who bought a new car in Canada in the past 3 yrs would be screwed. There are some debates going on right now with the auto industry as to how they can overcome the difference in pricing. Their short term solution was to ban most imports to Canada. As for new vehicles, I believe the only one left on the admissible list are Fords and Subaru's. Here's a link to the list:

Trucks are in Section 12.

Check out www.edmunds.com

It will give you an idea of how much people are paying for vehicles in the US. Don't buy from the Ford dealer in Bellingham. They are a bunch of ******!! They are pissed off that their dollar has fallen so much. They will make you pay full sticker price! The next closest dealer if SkagitFordSubaru in Burlington. Ask for Bill.

Ive been to that site before, good site. The whole dollar thing can kinda be a touchy subject. I personally think when the dollar drops and rises, the rest of the economy should accomodate that to a point. Its impossible to do though, so I just take it like it is.
