can't find my plate!

can't find my plate!
My truck
1968
F250
4X4
4spd
390 (blew up feeding round bale last winter)
My buddy gave me a 78 f250 460/C6 for the engine
Problem #1 - The separator plate is different from the auto to manual trans, and I can't find one. I came up with a bellhousing, but the guy didn't have the plate.
Do you guys know where I can find one? I believe any manual trans 351M,400M,460 plate would work. I guess the true 460 manual bellhousings are very rare for this older stuff.
If anyone else here has done this swap - I am all ears.
Thanks

The local Ford Dealership says that they cannot order this plate anymore - obsolete, but I will try the part numbers provided, thanks.
As for what happened to the old girl - I'll try to make a long story shorter - "My hired man in Kansas called one day when gas went sky high and told me that he was just going to leave the old truck in the pasture where the hay was and drive his pickup back and forth. Fine, except for a pack rat that decided to build a monument to the pack rat god underneath the hood. He called me and told me all the wires were chewed up. I told him if he left the hood up for awhile the rat would not feel secure and vacate. He left the hood up alright - for about 3 months during the winter - the next time I saw the truck my bale bed had been stripped off the back and the hood was still up - the crankcase was full of chocolate milk and who knows how many freeze/thaw cycles it went through.
Anyway I hauled the truck back to my home and drained all fluids - got it running, but it didn't sound the best. I welded the bed back on it and started using it to feed with. One cold night my daughters and I were feeding a round bale and she started knocking. I pulled up to the gate and told my 10 year old daughter that she was going to have to pedal the throttle to keep the old girl running or we were going to be walking home in 10 degree weather for 5 miles. "Like this", I said, as I gingerly keep the engine running.
"Ok", she said. As I ran to the gate I had to laugh as she started stomping on the throttle scared to death she was going to let it die and face her father's wrath as she walked all the way home in the dark. She was red lining the beast, but I did make it back to the truck before it gave up. I quickly let the bale off just inside the gate (they'll find it) and headed for the house after another gate pedaling episode. We made it about half way home before she locked up and we skidded to a stop on the gravel road.
Now I've run into issues with the 460 swap. The separator plate won't work, the clutch fork doesn't seem to be right for the new bellhousing. A guy here locally that has made this swap twice says I'll have to build a 3/8" spacer in addition to the separator plate that I don't have to make up for the differences in thickness of the 351 bellhousing and a "True" 460 manual bellhousing.
I'm starting to reconsider putting the C6 out of the donor 78 2WD in there and just running a floor shifter.

Your dealer didn't bother telling you the whole story.
E3TZ-7007-C .. Separator Plate was replaced by Ford with: E8TZ-7007-A .. Separator Plate.
E8TZ-7007-A is STILL available.
From FTE sponsor DIRECT FORD PARTS (Gaudin Ford-Las Vegas NV)
Ford suggested retail price: $102.00 / FTE member net price: $72.09.

To obtain a 3/8 spacer, use a total of 4 of those $70 separator plates, just cut the centers out of them. (use one stickshift plate, the rest C6 plates, they are cheaper, and alot easier to find.) This way you don't have to deal with using washers or spacers. The biggest challenge I see with using a spacer, is you loose contact with your dowel pins. If things go wrong, you can shear the bellhousing bolts. I have done the 351M/400 swap before, I used an Centerforce Dual Friction 11" diagphram style clutch, did not have any issues with bellhousing clearance. If you use a 12" clutch, I have read that you have to clearance the ribbing at the top of the bellhousing. Clutch fork issues, do you have any pictures you can show us? There were several belhousings for the square top big blocks, and each one had a different fork.

What about the starter area? - the C6 plates do not seem to match up where the starter is. Is the only purpose of this spacer plate space? Can a guy take a piece of plate steel, mark around it with a chalk pencil and cut one with a plasma cutter? That would be cheaper than spending $280 on plates.
Thanks
