vacume 4x4?

someone told me that the elctronic 4x4 was vacume activated. is this true? is it a problem? can it be fixed?

The 4 x 4 sytem on your truck is not vacuum activated .Switch (dash) runs to the kick panel, passenger side where theres a computer ,which in turns leads to a solenoid motor on your trasfer case, making it all electronic and electrical.Leading problems with the 4x4 not engaging are shift motor getting dirty .On my 92 i have taken mine off n cleaned it and installed new rubber stops(plastic) in which they disengrate.Good advice engage often (monthly) TR

i bought a whole new motor and that didnt fix it, i cleaned it to
