Question water pump

I had to take off the water pump to get the hoses on the new intake, and i was wondering, what do you guys think about electric water pumps?. I was wondering if that would be practical for my truck, i just don't know anything about them. They are very expenive. Would they be any good for street?

The mechanical pump has been doing a good job since 1958 when the FE series was first introduced. Are you racing the engine?

I'd keep the old true blue, go new if need be but keep to what works and spend the money on sensible stuff.

Yeah I have to agree...If your building a trick street/strip motor the extra 6 to 8 hp wont make a squat for the money.... For about 1/3 the price you can get a belt driven pump like the stock one from Edelbrock that has a higher flow rate over stock..

but unless your looking for every last bit of HP....I would go the extra expense... JMO!! for what ever it maybe worth....
