Scout around and try to pick up an entire vehicle so you'll have everything. Around here, trucks are a premium, but the 70's Ford and Mercury land barges can be had for less than $500 in running condition. Lincolns most generally cost a bit more but usually have been better maintained. A lot of these cars were parked simply due to lousy fuel mileage.
Hi; I bought my 460 / C-6 combo and ALL brackets, harnesses, pumps, ac, etc etc etc for 900.00. I drove it before it was jerked out from under the 1986 E-350. It even came with a soopo-doopo oil cooler!!
I recently sold a 1976 Lincoln Continental with 460 and ALL the goodies for only $300.00.....the prices will fluctuate for this setup.
And I am the one who bought that 76 Lincoln. Hi Mark. Still haven't started the tear down. I am going to begin on Saturday so I will send pics then. I posted Bunny on ebay to see if anyone wanted any parts off of her before I sent her to the scrap heap. I do have to say that I have tons of parts to play with and my mind is still rolling over the possibilities. I did notice that the steering column did buckle from hitting the mud bank.
