it was not really hiding I just thought that cord was something for the radiator heck I was just not paying attn it wont hurt it to leave it on over night will it
Nope, just technically a waste of electricity. Someone did a shadetree study on it once and it's just like an extra appliance on in the house, like another refrigerator running overnight. When i do feel the need to plug in my truck i plug it in all night and it stays that way. (not from starting issues, just hate getting in a cold truck and arriving at my destination before it gets warm)...It only takes about 3 hours for the heater to successfully heat the area it heats.
well it takes my truck for ever to crank I thought that might help but Im guessing it won't if the auto parts done have any glow plugs i'll be on ebay buying some in the morning
Well check the other thread on this page, alot of guys have gotten glow plugs for a penny from autozone, im sure someone with a buttload of them would not mine spending $.08 on you.

I just use a heavy duty timer and have it come on about 4 hours before I will be starting the truck. Works well. I also put a fridge magnet on the door above the door handle to remind me it is plugged in. Embarrassing dragging that extension down the road.
The block heater is about like having a hair dryer eunning on high. About 1500 watts.
