Hello...just about finished the two year resto/repair on the old grey ghost...now it is just the little things that are hard to locate. Does anyone have the dust (converter) cover for a C6...I am told that my C6 is different from others because it is mated to the 460 big block and will therefore require only that model dust cover...Ford parts places are no help...transmission shops in this area do not have any...one salvage yard 'might' have one to fit and that might be my best bet...
Anyone have one lying around their shop?
Thanks.
john
Thanks everybody...the person who told me that the C6 fitted to a 460 was a different model transmission and therefore had a different converter inspection (dust) cover was a person with an ebay store in Colorado...guess he was not correct.
This transmission does have a makeshift cover made out of sheet aluminum used as the dust cover...it barely fits properly and is missing one bolt...so my thought was to replace it with a factory piece...but as was pointed out...finding one might be a tall order. I may just have to fab a better one as I continue to search for a factory one.
Thanks again for the information...

C8SZ-7986-A .. Converter Cover = Obsolete, not serviced, not replaced.
Fits: The 351M/400/460's y'all mentioned....and......1973/76 F100/350 ALL 6's and V8's...with a C6.
Fits a bunch of other stuff too, all the way back to 1968.
1968/78 LTD/Mercury Marquis/Torino/LTD II/T-Bird/all the Lincoln's....yadda yadda yadda = 351M/400/429/460
I called Green Sales to verify the p/n hadn't been updated, and they told me that Dennis Carpenter is reproducing it, or already has reproduced it.
