I put disk brakes on the rear from an 87 Mark VII. The emergency brake adjustment is to tight. The tire drags when rotated. I tried moving the attaching arm back all the way but it hits the stop. I don't see any way except taking the arm off and turing the adjustment one turn (360) to loosen it up. Problem is what do you turn the stem with that fits in the arm??
Thanks in advance

How much drag is it? Will the wheel turn about once if you spin the tire? then it's normally. If it will spin under a 1/2 turn then you may have to play with the caliper adjustment.
It will barely turn at all and I have moved the lever back and forth several times. Looks like the only way I can loosen it is to remove the lever and somehow turn the pin the lever sets on back off one turn.

Max ,is the E-Brake assy., connected ? cables have tension ?? I remember something on some thread about this .Not real familiar with this set-p ,but something to check, keep us posted Chris.
I cant seem to get to the tech articles for some reason ,but I do remember something about the self adjusting mechanism in those calipers " requiring " the cables being installed, ..Sorry I can"t be more specific...There must be a server problem or something, checked out your gallery..Looking good !!..Chris.

I am using the same disc setup on my 55. If you take the arm off, does the problem go away? This is a mechanical motion to press the pad against the disc. Could this be a wrong pad problem?
If they are self adjusting....dont they adjust when the wheel is turned backward? If so, have you tried turning the wheel backward to see if there is any difference?
I plan on just using the "Fred Flintstone" brake system when needed.
