So Carl, where the heck am I located????? I am located in Palmyra, which is just east of Rottenchester (Rochester for those that could not figure it out) I have always refered to being in western NY but using your logic I am in central NY 
As far as distances..... about 30 miles east of Rochester, 60 miles west of Syracuse. About an hour drive from Oswego, an hour and 45 minuntes from Cortland and from the Buffalo area.
