Thanks Laredo thats what I am aiming for.
I'll have to see Fom but really how much do you save on a full size diesel?

Thats a plus to a gas pot, really if I use a Ford 3ton with a FE or inline 6 Any repairs are affordable because I know those truck inside and out upside down versus a diesel or EFI unit.

no offense to your love of oldies, but wouldn't you want something a little more modern for all day, everyday delivering??

It depends if it is all in town or mainly then I wouldn't mind a well running/maintained older 3 ton but if it turns out to be highway travel, then a newwer truck or newwer drive train would be much better.

i suppose... like i say...nelson courier in yorkton would be a bunch to call. they have owner/drivers and they make real good money. they've been contemplating a s'toon-yorkton expansion, but its hard for them to find drivers too.

I would be in a newer truck to avoid constant repairs with the bonus of better dependability. Constant down time could be a killer.
I`m not real big on driving all day plus working half the night on a truck any more, I used to do abit of that but those days are over.

I think its cool you would like to do coruier work with an older truck, but I dont know if its the best idea. Appearance is alot when doing work like that, and these days, most people want to see a shiney new truck working for them instead of a shiney old one.

I know theres a few guys in here that will say different, but I mean in general, the people you would want to haul stuff for.

Just gotta remind them who do you think paid for the new truck, it really wasn't the driver or company.
