1995 Check engine light
I have a 95 explorer 4.0 with 235000 miles on it which still runs good. My question is when I go for an extended highway speed cruise..an hour or more running 65-75mph my check engine light flickers then comes on. Stop and restart and the light is off untill extended highway driving again. It will not set a code in the computer and have had it scaned a couple of times. Any thoughts on what to check......thanks Louis

My 92 did that sometimes especially if I had cruise control on. However, it would throw a throttle position sensor (TPS) code. Are you pulling codes from the EECIV connector under the hood? Don't use the OBDII connector under the dash as it's non-functional.

Thanks for the reply. Its been awhile since I pulled the codes but I'm pretty sure we did it under the hood. Its been an on going thing for a long time, and maybe I'm off base BUT, If it works don't fix it.
