Yesterday my 94 ranger 4x4 got stuck in 4-low so i took it to the local stealership and they quoted me at $800 to fix it because they said the transfer case shift motor is junk. But when i try to click it into 4x4 i see the battery guage go down like it is working and i hear a few clicking noises coming from the controller behind the driver side jump seat. I read the article on here on how to fix this and im goin to attempt to tackle this when i have time too. I was just wondering if there is a way to temporarily shift it back to 2wd so i can drive it till i can fix it?
Also, since this is my first time posting here id like to introduce myself. Im 23 years old and i have a 94 ranger 4x4 ext. cab with 78,000 miles. It was a pretty nice truck till i got into a little accident and now i need the left side replaced on the truck. Some other things about the truck, when i start it up, it kinda acts like it wants to die like something is wrong with the idle air control? i have to give it gas, then it comes out of it.
