what kind of money are you willing to spend? We make these where I work, but they aren't cheap, lol. http://www.genesisequip.com/products...Product_Id=819

Are you talking about a machine-mounted type of thing for demolition, or something you can drop chunks into and get little pieces out of?

Back when I was little, there was this guy in north central kansas that had a small stone crusher powered by an old hit and miss engine. He would bring it to the local labor day festival/prade. Basically the stone crusher part had a large flywheel that attached to two corrugated wedges. These wedges formed a v channel in which bricks and 10-20 lb rocks were dropped into. The wedges oscillated up and down with a relatively small stroke, in opposite directions of eachother. At the bottom of the channel, the corrugated wedges would shear off little chunks of the rock, and make a pile of stone chips on the ground. A picture is worth 1000 words, but unfortunately, I don't have any.

I did a little google image searching and found this. This is exactle what the crushing jaws looked like, but on a smaller scale. The whole engine and crusher assembly was about a 3X4' footprint

I doubt you'll save any money, crushed stone is about as cheap per pound as it gets, but hauling it is the cost, usually more than the stone

problem with crushing concrete is the steel, whether wire or re-bar, jams the crusher

to crush, there has to be enough compressive force to fracture the concrete and or stone, it is not fast impact.
that's why the crushers have a large flywheel, usually two, to have enough energy to attain that force................pressure not speed

I don't know where you live, but, in GA they give crushed concrete away for free. If you can't haul they can do it for a small fee.
