Bought a used camping trailer last week. It is a 99 model so I am assuming the propane tanks are the old style. Has anyone ever switched the fill valves to the new OPD style valves? I have a few of the new 20#s and don't want to buy new 30's. Can this be done? Thanks
I don't know your exact situation, but some of the tank trading places have a price for trading out an old style tank.
Otherwise, I'd be pretty worried about changing out a safety part like that.
Propane has that nasty deal about sinking to low areas, so I don't do anything to exotic with it.
walmart had a tank exchange that was free....not sure if they still do that, however. I just dug out my old 100# propane tank, and plan on exchanging/replacing valve to the new style. I'm first gonna go to my local heating oil/propane supplier.

He's looking for an adapter that will convert the old connection from the rv to the new tank.
My bad. I misread it. Local RV supplier should be able to atleast point ya in the right direction. as to my old style 100#, it still screws into the line that goes to my new OPD tank. The line is from my torpedo heater. It has both female and male on each end.
