Hey guys! I've just bought a 91 f150 with 300 six in it. Runs good except it stalls several time when cranked cold. After it warms, it runs like a champ. I've searched threads and found a couple of ideas that I'm going to try to fix it. Anyway....... I've got some kinda plug that's not connected. It is the same harness as the EGR, IAC wires are about six inches behing the distrubtor. This particular plug has a red and black wire in it and has EPC on it and have no idea what it is and where it goes. Any help will be appreciated. PO

Can you take a picture of the plug? EPC is just the company that makes the connectors for Ford.

Thanks for the reply. I didn't think the ititials stood for anything but I wasn't sure. I thought it may have stood for the electronic pressure control. I'll try to get a picture posted soon.....I know that's the only way for ya'll to know what I'm talking about. I can't find anywhere for this unhooked plug to go. I guess if it were a sensor my check engine light would come on. Thanks

It may just be one of those things where Ford used the same harness in multiple configurations and the connector is just unused on your particular truck.

Perryau1996 ...
I also have a '91 300 I6. It runs fine but for future reference I would like to know what you find out about about your cold start problem.
Good Luck,
DR in Dallas

Dusty RoadsMy cold start up problem was fixed a couple days ago. I took advice from this web site and cleaned the Idle Air Control off and cleaned it with carb cleaner. It hasn't cut off yet after I start it up. Quick question. Can you hear water running in your heater core (behind the glove box) ? I hear water running when I crank up but seems to go away after a while.
