Happy New Year!
I am researching air intakes for my 2003 F-250 6.0 PSD. Could someone piont me in the right direction not just for air flow and filtration but for ease of use and filter change. The stock oem box is a pain to disassemble and replace.
Don't change a thing. They are the dogs nads on the 6.0.For removal if you undo the intake at the maf sensor joint and the clamps on the front snorkle the whole unit comes out very easily. The filter minder will tell you when to change the filter so you dont need to 'check' the filter.
The search function will give you all the info. you need. For example: the stock system has the best flow for up to 500 hp, also has the best filtration over any a/m systems. You can also do a search on the "zoodad" mod.
I especially like a filter (stock one) that can go 50,000 miles + without changing. Now that is easy. Watch the filter minder. It just doesn't seem to move because these filters can hold a lot of dirt.
Safest bet would be to keep your stocker and just do a Zoodad to give you ram air effect. You'll have to clean an A/M filter WAY more often then the stock one.
