Hi, had the teys stolen that go to my 03 SD. How can I break in to get the plastic spare? Dealer is closed tommorow, So I realy need to get in. Thanks!
Thanks, going in the morning with a couple pieces of coat hanger and will try that. It is a 250, and I can only hope I can get a key cut tommorow. I hope that the plastic one is in my manual. My so called friends stole mine, an now my tuck is sitting in BFE!
Make a wedge out of a piece of wood and use it to wedge open the dood at the top. A more stiff piece of wire like the antenna off the truck will work best. Bend it as needed to reach the unlock button. it will most likely take you several tries but youll get it.
Well, it turns out that I did not have a plastic spare/pattern. I was able to retreave my truck, and I am so glad that it is in one piece. I guess the song "find out who your friends are" is true. All I can say is payback is a B!
any of you guys ever heard of "the big easy"?. its like a big giant coat hanger and i can get into almost any vehicle in less that 30 seconds, faster if i really need to. snap-on, mac, and matco all sell them. some even come with a little plastic wedge that is used to pull the top of the door out for easy access. other kits come with a rubber baloon type thing that you pump up and thats what pulls the door out.
there is a numerical key code the dealer can use to cut a key. can't remeber right now for sure but I think it is printed inside the glove box. Your manual will tell you for sure where to locate it. Of course now that you have the actual key that is the easiest way to make a copy.
Thanks for the code tip. Will look in the morning for it. I am getting a few spare keys made to hide on this truck, along with the bad smelling cheese for my friends psd exhaust!
Wedge the door jam open about 1/2" fom the top and use a coat hanger to hit the power lock button.
I think this only applies to vehicles with remote keyless entry, but my truck disables the power door lock buttons when it is locked by the remote, thus disabling thiefs using this tactic to gain entry. Try locking your doors while sitting in your truck with your remote control, then use your power door lock switch. I think there is a small time frame after locking the doors until the switch is de-activated.
