Silly question ??

New to v-10s, there seems to be alot of engine braking on this engine. I had a f150 with 5.4 but when you take your foot off the gas on the V-10 it really slows down alot faster than the f150. Is this normal,

Yes, this is normal. Just like a V-8 slows you down faster than a 4 cyl, a V-10 will slow you down faster than a V-8.

More pistons pulling against the throttle plate, making more vacuum, slows you down faster.

Make sure you don't have it in tow haul mode. I had a 2001 4 x 2 V-10 Excursion and don't remember anything like that. You will get better answers, but you probably should disclose your tranny and rear ratio. Oh, and what is the V-10 powering?
