I have an Edelbrock streetmaster intake for my 429. I was wondering if these things are pretty decent, or should I pick up something newer? Any suggestions?
The street master is a bit dated, and the open plenum tends to lessen bottom end torque a bit, but on the whole it is a decent intake. I would say it is a good steet intake 2000-6000 range. I would be a bit apprehensive to use it for a 4x4 or heavy hauler.

Thanks for the input, phantom429. I don't know how old the intake is, I just figured it was pretty old. It's definatley not in the rpm range I'm looking for, so that question is answered. Thanks again!
The StreetMaster intakes were made in the late 70's. I called and talked to a Edlbrock sales rep a few months back. He said it was during the gas crunch that those were developed for a fuel economy purpose. I have one on my 351W. Still runs like a bat out of hell though. But I just can't get her to pass the 5800 rpm range. Well I will soon not have to worry about that.
