I posted in the 67-72 truck list about swapping in a 460 in place
of my 390, but now i wonder is a 68 (first year) 460 lincoln
worth something???Or being the first year does it have issues??

I'm assuming its a 68 motor by the C8 intake 4bbl part #
Can someone help me with this motor as far as torque, HP etc

 

Horsepower rating :365bhp@4,600rpm
Torque rating : 500 lb./ft.@2,800rpm
Compression ratio : 10.5:1

 

Yeah, its worth something. Whats the casting numbers off the heads and block?

i dont have the casting #'s yet since i havent pulled the motor,

I wanted to see if its a good choice of 460
before pulling it

 

If its a '68, yeah, I think its a good choice. I don't think there were any design flaws (not counting the EPA's opinion). You could even part it out for cash quite easy. You got the parts lots of guys on this forum would like to have I know. If its a '68 that is.
