I am looking to buy a fairly new or new truck. Either a reg cab chevy with V6 or a reg cab ford with a V6...but does anyone know where there is a comparison between the two...like an article that has been done...if not...which one of the two is faster???? Remember these are the V6's I am talking about...
As a suggestion, while you are comparing the trucks also compare the gas milage, cost VS life span, and the resale value of the V6 VS the V8. I believe you won't find justification for the V6 unless it is simply an econimic situation at purchase.
Gas milage difference is not that much.
The V8's clearly outlast, the 6's
and the most important RESALE VALUE of the V8 will more than justify the difference in the orginial purchase price.
And you even mentioned speed in your post.....
I'd have to agree with daw1264. If you get a V6, at some point you will probably regret not getting the V8. As for reviews, I can't help there. I do know that the Fords usually come in about mid-field overall, but always at the top for resale value and reliability. Check them all out for yourself. That's what I had to do. I swore I would never buy another Ford, since EVERY one I have had (about 6) has had an undiagnosable and thus unfixable, stalling problem. But I liked the Fords much better than the Chevy, GMC, or Dodge trucks. Heck, I even looked at the Toyota Tundra. Nothing came close to winning me over like the Ford. With a new one, there is a warranty, so I didn't really worry about problems.
