4 wheel drive issue
I have a 2002 Ford Explorer Sport Trac truck. My 4 wheel drive is not working. When i turn the 4 wheel drive switch the indicator light on the dash does not light up. When i turn on my lights, there is a green light that illuminates the dial but that is it.
Any thoughts on what the problem is and or how i can diagnose the problem myself.

This may only be worth about 2 cents, but first I would check the servo motor on the transfer case to make sure it is turning the selector on the transfer case. Also, starting with '01 the electronic control module for the 4WD is located behind the kick panel on the passenger side. I'd guess that it's the same on the '02. Some of the older ones had a reset button on the module (so I've read--never actually had to push it). You should/might be able to get the failure codes with a scanner.
