hey ya'll im back again
jus got back off the boat and i went to run my 97 f150, i noticed that it doesnt switch the a/c on, the controls still have vacuum when i switch it threw all the settings but it doesnt blow any cold air, even when i switch it on vent (i know it should be cold its 40's outside) any suggestions??
It's probably down on freon and the low pressure switch is preventing the compressor from coming on. The compressor doesn't come on much when the temp is low but when you put it on defrost it should cycle a little. If it doesn't, it's low. Time to place a good set of gauges on it and find the leak you may have. The vent air is warmed by being around the engine so it's not going to be the same as outside air.
It is a door in the ductwork that controls the temp of the air thru the vents. It is what moves when you turn the temp dial. They are known to break where the actuator attaches and then get stuck where they are and you have no temp control.
