Well I was on the way home and my buddy was in front of me so when I came to a long double lane I puched it. Well I breazed past him becouse he wasnt paying any mind untill I come screaming by. He punched it and wound up passing me like I was sitting still. I will keep the brand of truck nameless, too much of an uproar last time I added my 2 cents. Anyway I held her for about 2 miles at around 110-115 mph hoping to catch up with my friend when he run out of gears. He had a 4 speed manual and I have an overdrive auto. Needless to say i didnt catch him but I made it home just fine and she was running good. The next morning I get in to head to work and she dont want to crank at first then she has a dead miss and smoking like hell and has a tap, well a knock rather, that wasnt there before. I have looked it over and cant fiqure it out, Ohh well it was on its last leg anyway.
Now the adventure begins with building my other 302 and slapping it in there.
That sucks, 4 speed manual, I know what brand, friend had one, nice truck I should have bought it, but he was looking for one. I blew mine by hydrolocking. lol
I have no sympathy for you. You were driving like an imbecile.
Wow that was harsh. I didnt ask for sympathy I was just simply sharing a story for yalls reading pleasure. You cant say that you have never gotten a wild hair in your *** and just nailed it to see what you truck ( or car)has. Drag racing is big in my family along with muscle cars, hot rods and anything fast so its in my blood. Thats my story and Im sticking to it. ohh by the way when I finish this build I plan on trying it again and hopefully with better luck.

No... I can't say I have.
a) I value my truck and have an appreciation for the fact that it did cost me MONEY. These trucks are not meant to be run like that so no, I would not do it.
b) And more importantly, my father died in a car accident so I'm not about to go TOYING with my mortality as you do.
Driving fast is a personal choice... If you lose a loved one to a car accident (God forbid) you might have a different outlook on things.

I value my truck also and it did in fact cost me money but whats the point in having something if you cant enjoy it. Its not like I take it to the drag strip and race it every weekend I was just stretching its leggs some. Hey you can make more money anyway right.
I am sorry to hear about your father. I have lost a few friends, 1 cousin and a uncle to car accidents. I also have another cousin that fliped his mustang and is now in a wheel chair for the rest of his life. He now ownes a S10 with a 350 in it and isnt scared to run her either. I have a friend I went to high school with who is also in a wheel chair from wreking her car. I understand and yes its a personal choice but if Im suposta go out like that I just hope Im halling *** and some one gets it on camera.
*disclamer* the last statement was a joke and shouldnt be taken in any serious fashon. The authors intent was to lighten the mood and gain a few chuckles from other readers so relax and enjoy. serve over ice or slightly chilled, shake well before opening, refregerate after opening. Enjoy
Well... Having lost all of those close relatives and friends I think it's a poor decision to be racing trucks... Again, personal choice.
As for your first statement about "stretching the trucks legs"; my point is that the truck is not meant for the kind of abuse that you gave to it. If you want to race something then buy a mustang or a tuner, the truck is meant for 4 wheeling and pulling weight...
Interesting story. I won't rant about the safety issue cause I've street raced. But 110mph if you can't smoke the car/truck before that why bother?..especially if he passed you like you were standing still. Around here you don't need to go fast cause all the young kids have stock Hondas, easy to beat before hitting 40mph. And I certaintly wouldn't want to risk killing myself or others. Good ending though that motor broke.

I didnt buy the truck for speed. I have something for that. I didnt buy it for pulling I have something for that and I didnt buy it for muddin cause I have something for that also. What I did buy it for is driving back and forth to work so I dont mess up my other Vehicles. Yea she broke allright.... at least she went down fighting. Also it was late at night on a 4 lane 3 mile strech road with a full moon so its not like I was racing in rush hour traffic or in a school zone or something..... not that I have done that or anything.
To be fair the trucks in those videos aren’t average trucks. There not even really trucks at all. There race cars with truck bodies and highly modified engines designed for those purposes. However our trucks should be able to take high speeds for short durations if there still healthy.

Thats a blast! Just KIDDING! Im surprised the truck held together at 110! I would never take my truck up to that speed even if i was on a airport run way! Of course my tires are unbalaced over 72 mph anyways so lol Keep it save boyz! What are you going to drive now that ur truck is out of commision! man i kow the feeling but i got daddys powerstroke to drive around for a bit.
