Saw this on E-bay today. Seller say it's a D1VE 460 Block. Something just don't look right. 4 bolt mains? Different oil filter location? Strange looking main cap on # 5. Take a guess!!
[updated:LAST EDITED ON 01-13-03 AT 04:27 PM (EST)]Looks like a mislabeld 350 4 bolt Chevy motor. A newer one at that. You can see the oil pump pad in the middle of the rear cap. Also notice the oil dipstick tube cast into the block just in front of the oil filter pad?
Sorry Dennis, that is the rear of the block, and a chebby block at that. I wonder if the seller posted the wrong pics with the listing, which is entirely possible. I also have to wonder if the buyer bought it because the pic showed 4 bolt main caps, which are not standard on D1VE blocks. $200 seems kinda steep for a std. D1VE block.
[updated:LAST EDITED ON 01-15-03 AT 02:25 PM (EST)]yep a chevy I have blown enough of them up in my stock car but It almost looks like a 400 sbc i'm going to see if I can read the number on the block okay can't read the number but here is what I think it is .... a 400 sbc bored over to make a 406 the 4 bolt main in a 400 sbc is harder to come bye so if this is what it is the guy got a good deal kinda funny a guy with the name goodwrench selling ford parts hmmmmmm I smell a conspiracy here hehhehehehe
