Lower Control Arm Bushings

Well it's time to replace the ball joints on my 2002 Expy 4x4. Figured I would replace the control arm bushings as well. The manual states the lower control arm bushings may be welded on, if not the bushings will need to be replaced by a shop. Anyone replace the lower control arm bushings before? I'm sure they are pressed on but can the ordinary mechanic replace them without a press? Any further tips for replacing the ball joints. I plan on using all Moog parts.

I have seen it done with a realy big C-Clamp..... I have a shop down the street that will press items for $10 each... Every where else wants 1hr of labor for each part ($98 per hr!)! If you can find a good shop like that, take the LCA's off and take the parts in and have them do it for you. If not, an arbor press is only about $200 for a cheap model and might be worth the investment if you plan on doing further home auto repair work. If I hade the $200 I'd buy the press...
