Why did I wait until now to install it? I've had it for a week. That's one week wasted. 80e is plenty for me. Hate to think what 140 would feel like!! Do any of you guys get a nice puff of black when you romp on it in 80e? I do, and I love it!! Had to remove the a-pillar post to install the chip. Right now the wiring is duct-taped to the metal of the a-post. ernesteugene would be proud!!! If you are on the fence on this mod, your lose if you don't make the move!! Like my custom install? Off to move furniture with my "NEW" truck. Talk to you soon! Nice to know what permagrin is all about. Oh, by the way, OBA installed today as well. That was simple.
heck i've had mine almost 2 weeks and don't have it installed yet......I just can't seem to make the time to get er done!!!!! maybe now that the holidays are over!!!
I'm glad to hear you like it.....so far i've heard nothing negative about them
Install wasn't that hard either. Took me about one hour, course I have to install gauges and pillar tomorrow. The truck has a whole new feel to it. More grunt around 1600 plus rpm's. Glad I have stock setting still to use with the snow we are having. If I left it in 80e, I'd be in the ditch quick. It's gonna take awhile to get used to the new go-pedal.
Installing and driving with the DP-Tuner puts a big smile on your face don't it.
Make sure that the duct tape Pod switch doesn't fall off and comes unplugged from the cable, because your truck will shut off. Enjoy !!!!
Yeah- found that out after I was installing it but while it was still in the driveway. Pod peice fell out and truck shut-off. Have any of you used electrical tape to secure your connections on your DP controllers? I'm thinking of doing that before I close up the pillar tomorrow.
Brian -Glad to hear you like it Still waiting for my wife to let loose of the check book so I can get me one. Next month should be about right . Congrats and enjoy -
Thanks Bill- do you know what tunes you are planning on getting? Looks like you are comfortable doing the more complex mods. Still not sure if I'm up to the hutch & harpoon task. Turbo back is in the near future for egt's for me though. I think I can handle that.
The funniest thing ever, is when i read "i duct taped it to the pillar" i immediately thought of EE and his duct tape-etry. Then the next sentence you said just that.
Man. I wonder why mine's different. When my F5 comes off, it just goes to stock. Before I mounted mine using their gauge mount, I had it down by the left side of the steering wheel. I would occasionally bump it loose with my knee and wouldn't realize it was in stock mode until I would hit it. It's funny how the truck now seems "broken" without his tunes...
I have the 80E & 120 Race for now -- soon to have Lopey, 140 Smoke, & 60T. 80E is quite nice, 120R is great when you need it -- it's not that much more power, but the shifts are different.
What do you guys do if you have to take your truck to the stealership? Can they mess up the chip with it being connected to the PCM? do you need to remove it? I assume not and hope not.

I don't go there. No reason to, and I don't plan on there being a reason to...

Yes, i taped the cable to the back of the switch,
I would feel alot better if the cable would have snaped in and locked into the back of the switch.

The reason yours don't shut off is because you don't have no-start.
