#'s Dummy, Interchange help again

I was able to find a waterpump pulley that I can make work after some cutting/welding and spacing. Now I'm in the hunt for a crank pulley that has 2v for the alt, one for pwr steer and one for a/c. The setup I currently have is 1v for the alt, pwr steer, and a/c. If I can just get the base pulley that has the 2v for the alt, I suppose my pwr steer and a/c pulleys will stack and space out like they should (i hope). My delima is that I'm having a hard time finding pulleys at all. I don't want to go w/ March pulleys b/c I'm no gonna spend that kinda money. What am I asking? I need some numbers to go on that I can search for. Part numbers or casting numbers for the crank pulley setup. This pulley on ebay is exactly what I need- 140192736931 . But its already at $41 which I know isn't a whole lot but sheez guys I'm cheap, especially this time of year. I figure if I can find out that pulleys from anoher engine family will work then I'll just go to the yard and get those instead. Does anyone have one of these layin around that they'd be willing to part w/?

the pulley that came with the 390 auto engine I have has prt# C5AE-A and is a 2 groove. The part # on the ebay auction is C8AE-6312-D the one I have lookes pretty small in diameter.. maybe 5" didnt check.. as I said I'm hitting the yards in the am and will have a look around..it's .5 price days till the 1rst so it might be 5.00 if there is one ...no worries..

Oh gotcha, I need a diameter of 6.75" for the 2v's. The front one's can be whatever if it comes with them b/c I can put mine on there if indeed they're different.

I'll check my pile also.

I took my landlord a 12er for his Christmas present. He told me he needs to replace exhaust manifolds on his 390. He was guessing he'd have to spend $80 to $90 each. I was going to ask what kind of drugs he was on, but DUH! I bought him that 12 pack.

I'll be digging out an extra set of logs for him soon, I'll see what I have for dampers.

No Dice on a pulley like that at two different yards. I'll head by another in the am just for a browse.

Never found any tri pulleys on a FE, was damn lucky to find an FE. Did pull one off of a 400M ? not sure if it would work or not. Most of the other engines like it had the newer serp setups on them.

See edit below.

If I understand you correctly, you need a pulley for 2 alternator belts, one each P/S and A/C belt. A 4 sheeve (groove) pulley, correct?

1973/76 with A/C = Ford lists 2 TRIPLE sheeve pulleys. Both are 7 5/32" in diameter.

1965/72 F Series truck: There are three triple sheeve pulleys listed, several 2 sheeve pulleys, several one sheeve pulleys.

1965/71 352/390/428 passenger car: There are 5 triple sheeves and a bunch of others, INCLUDING a single sheeve pulley that could be added to a 1, 2, or 3 sheeve pulley.

Ford did offer a few 4 sheeve pulleys: On 351C's, 351M's & 400's, 429's and 460's. Will these work on a FE engine? Dunno.

You could also double up two 2 sheeve pulleys, If Ford did it, so can you.

What I NEED to know...is what DIAMETER pulley you need...then we can proceed. I have a source locally (Los Angeles) that has 1000's of new and used pulleys.

Mebbe I'll take PYPbob aka Redmanbob along.

He'll get an eyeopener > > 1000's of NOS Ford parts...at a junkyard!

> > > EDIT: Ebay TRIPLE SHEEVE PULLEY > > > marked: C8AE-6312-D = C8AZ-6A312-D = 6 5/32" O/D / 6 21/32" Inside pulley diameters.

All I really need is the double sheave first section pulley for the alt belts. I can stack my existing pwr steer and a/c pulleys onto those. My existing alt pulley measures 6.75" dia so I guess I should stick w/ what it has. Now if they'll sell you the 3 or 4 sheave all together for the same price then I'll just go w/ that. Thanks guys!!! Hey while you're at it (if you don't mind of course) see if they've got any 2.6" dia alternator 2v pulleys. Thats the last piece of the puzzle I need after the crank pulleys. If not, no biggy, I think I know where I might be able to get one of those back home.

This was easier than looking at all those &%@)*% crank pulleys!

C5AZ-10344-L .. 2 Sheeve Alternator Pulley - 2.84" diameter (Motorcraft GP-494)

Fits: Dozens of 1965/72 Ford passenger cars from 170 engines thru 460 engines.

Also used on 1965/79 pick em ups.

This double pulley doesn't have a fan made as part of it.

I currently have one three sheeve waterpump FE pulley (but I can't sell it too you here ) And just sold a three sheeve crank pulley. I have a cast iron early 60's FE crank pulley too. The three sheeve w/p pulley was from a 74 F250's 390. Big sum-bitch too, about a 7" diameter with all three sheeves the same diameter. As I also posted on your other thread about your 6 year problem, a 60's 289 two sheeve also works on an FE waterpump. I sold one of these a few years back, it's a lot smaller then the FE pulley, about a 5 incher. The late 60's car 2 groove FE w/p pulley is about a 6 incher
