Headlight and Grill upgrades
Is it posible to update the looks on the early ex's to the ones from the later years? i mean would they fit.....headlamps,grills...etc.
please id love to know.....wondering if its already been done.

Well yes it is possible. I just put 05 lights on my 01 X and they work great. My next step is to get the modified 05 grill from here http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/05-07...spagenameZWDVW

The grill will require modification to fit. There are excellent pre-modified ones on Ebay all the time.
Otherwise, you can swap the bumper assembly as well and then no grill trimming is necessary.
The headlights will bolt on if you replace the reinforcement panel, or you can cut your existing panel to fit the 2005-07 headlamps.
It is becoming a pretty popular mod. I'm currently working on my swap of a 2007 front end onto my 2000 Ex.
Now if I could just find someone who needs to buy a 2000 front end, Then I'd have no truck parts in my living room

U can swap out the old grille for the 05 grille that is cut and made to fit ur truck on ebay and use ur stock bumper and headlights. Or u can go the route by replacing the entire front end to make it look like an 05 (head lights, grille and bumper). The 2nd option is do able but costs more then the first one. Or, you can do what i did and go out and buy a aftermarket grille for the 2000-2004 models and also buy clear headlights and turn signals. This is also a cheap way. Their are pics in my gallery so look if u are interested and if u have any questions about it just ask!

and by the way, if u go the route where u relace the headlights, bumpers and grille with all 05 parts, it is not wise to cut into the header panel to make the 05 lights fit. That will make the panel alot weaker

is there a way to swap the lights without cutting or weakening anything........i'd definitely go for the OEM look over aftermarket but matt if you can tell me where you got your aftermarket clears from i might be interested

i just saw your headlights,nice!!! but those turn sig's had a bit of colour to them.........and why didn't you just go with the 05 grille...........and offtopic for a sec.
is that v10 enough power for the rig.or do wish you went the PSD route??

you wont believe what i actually was contemplating.
initially i wanted an EX but then the size really scared me off so i stated looking at a range rover./landcruiser 80 series or lx450,mainly due to the fact that i have huge dogs and would be commuting quite a bit with ém....but then as much as i love the range's(p38) those things are sooooooo plauged with issues that it scared me back to the mighty EX.
and i have 4days left to decide..........

I did the '05+ Super Duty conversion on my ('04) Ex. Got the specially cut grill from eBay (MKM Customs) along with the headlights and the harness from GOS Performance.

Does anyone have any pictures of their Excursions with latter model grill / headlight upgrades? I have an '02 and like it - but like the stock '06? 250 350 grills (and wheels) better. Not sure what's on the '05s mentioned above.
