so this 302 im getting from the 90 mustang he sayes it has a 3 inch wieland high rise but no carb i should be able put my two barrel from my 80 on there i hope. allso any of you guys no around how much horse that 302 should have you think ill tell the difference between the new motor to the 80. thank you
with the right adapter you can, but you are better off with a 4 bbl on that intake, no one can tell how much horse with out putting it on a dyno!! dont be fooled
You won't see that much difference, unless your old engine was really worn out.
If this high rise intake has one large hole where the carb goes, instead of being divided up(dual plane) you will see a big difference in the new engine. It will be a dog off the line and the worn out 302 would probably beat it.
from what i can remember a stock 90 mustang 302 was factory rated at 200 to 225 horsepower at the flywheel.however that intake makes it best power at the upper rpm range with a 4 barrel carb.it would hurt your low rpm torque in a truck unless you had a steep gear set in the rear.if you want to use the 2 barrel carb you have then i would reuse the intake off the 80
