can you guys tell me who makes the best cold air kit for the money. im looking for quality !!! i have a 01 4x4 with a 4.0 there seems to be so many of them out there and i have heard bad things about k&n. so any input would be helpfull. thanks
what about the airaid system? it doesnt come with a tube but it seems like the factory box and filter are the the ones restricting the air. the airaid system has a rabate for a free power aid throttle body spacer with the purchase of a intake system. i figure that to be a pretty good deal.
I have heard of some issues with Airaid. Their filter is pretty good, but some people I have talked to complained about the way the intake itself was made. Have you checked with AFE? They have a very good washable dry filter that could be used with a K&N intake if they don't make a unit for your application. The filter efficiency is phenomenal, and the cleanup is very easy.
I agree with Bear River on both the Airaid and AFE points.
While I don't want to get into this performance parts debate, a member from back when, Ken00, did a test to see if the stock intake did restrict flow any and determined that it didn't. So pick and choose, no matter which aftermarket intake you get, you're not "opening anything up".
