Instrument voltage regulator

My temp gauge and fuel gauge have started working together (in other words, if the fuel tank is full, the temp gauge reads higher). I've heard there's an instrument voltage regulator. Where is is located? I would assumen under the dash somewhere. My truck is a 79 F100.

Your IVR is attached to the back of your instrument panel, it looks like a 9v battery, they cost about $15.00 new.

Instrument voltage regulator

It looks like this & it plugs into the printed circuit on the back of the cluster.
