I am at 65,000 Km. I have yet to add a single litre of oil between oil changes. I was changing at 5000Km and am now at the 7500 Km since the dealer moved the intervals. I am now using syn Delo 5w40 and put in 13.5 litres. It sits at half way up the hatch marks all the time if the truck is level. I have had oil change intervals where the truck pulled the RV the 4500 of the 5000 Km and still never burned oil.

I think you must have a leak or you are not waiting long enough to check?

I recently had to add a quart of oil between changes....is this common or within the engine specs? I welcome your thoughts on what your experience has been with the truck needing additional oil between changes. Ford dealership says this in not out of the normal. Thanks in advance for your help.
I've got 51,000 + on mine, it doesn't seem to use a drop that I can see & it's always about in the mddle of the crosshatched. I change oil every 4,000 (13.5 qts)using 15/40 & tow most of the time.

thanks for the FUD brother.

just cuz you went 132K dont mean it was a happy 132K.

its bad bizness to go over 5K miles and your towing a trailer.

SWEET!

Bought my 06 F-350 last May from a Ford dealer with 36,000 miles on it. The first time I checked the oil, it was over the full mark by about 1/4 inch. Took it back to the dealer thinking maybe diesel was getting into the engine. They couldn't find anything wrong. I used the oil changing fact sheet on this site and found out that only 13.5 quarts of oil should be used. I've done 2 oil changes since and have added 13.5 quarts and now my oil level is always right on. I'll bet they added 15 quarts when the changed the oil before putting it on the lot.
