automatic trans shifter hard to move

lately I have noticed how hard it is to move the shift lever on my 99 F-350 does anybody have any ideas on what this could mean ?

something in the column may be binding up. if you rent a real mechanic, i wouldnt advise trying to get in there. have a mech look at it.

Are you referring to just moving it out of park, or in between gears? Is your indicator in the correct position or is it a little off? You might need to tighten up the shift lever (couple of screws from underneath) if your indicator is off a little.
