Hi I have a question about Where I can find a bullet proof tranny for my 2003 6.0 F350 I have burned up 2 stock trannys my truck is used for commercial plowing 6 months out of the year and in the summer it pulls a 14000 trailer .I really don't want to go stock again so if anyone here knows where to get what I am looking for it would be appreciated thanks in advance
2003stroker, as riggz said, Suncoast is a great place to start. We do manufacture in-house transmissions starting with the Suncoast Superduty Rebuild kit, and our own hydraulic center support, intermediate return, and direct drive configurations. Give us a call for pricing if you are interested.
i would listen to that guy above me. He is a master with the torqshift tranny and can build it as well as anyone and as fast as anyone.... i would trust him with my truck, oh wait, HE built my truck !!
not to get off the subject but i have been experiancing a slip when shifting from 3 to 4 gear. i have a torqshift 5 speed bone stock outlaw lariat. it does this sometimes and havce noticed it to do it when going up hill. to best explain it i would have to say it is slipping but what it does exacaly around 30 - 40 mph the truck will shift and the rpms go up slightly then shifts. i read the torque shift relearning process but not sure if that is what i ahve to do is this normal?? should i do a relearning produre?
Thanks for the offer Matt and the help guys !!! I ended up ordering an ATS stage2 trans . Hoping it will work out well . Have heard nothing but good things about them from a friend so had to give them a try ! Matt you should be hearing from me soon as I need to get rid of my Edge and step up to some custom tunes
why would you spend the kind of $$$$ ats costs when matt has offered to help you ?? i guarantee the tranny he can build is just as strong as the one you will get from them, and believe me when i say the guy knows the 6.0 like NO ONE ELSE DOES.

I hope you don't get that upset everytime someone goes with something else other then what you suggest. Otherwise alot of people on here will be giving ulcers that is for sure.

oh no bro it's all good i wasnt upset.. i apologize sometimes i forget how sharp my comments sound for some reason they always get taken the wrong way..
i think i write things too short and to the point and i tend to be biased against certain companies and it shows ... i'm not mad at all, and i hope no one takes anything i say on here personally..
i just get irritated when companies like banks and ATS and some of the others charge so much for their products compared to the smaller guys who offer a better product but dont have the financial ability to mass produce and make things more affordable.. i guess i just always go for the underdog.
people like ats have a lock on the market when it comes to certain things (billet flywheels/turbo pedestals etc...) and then they charge a really high price cause no one else can do it cheaply... i'm not saying they have poor quality, don't think i'm bashing them, but when they charge 700 bucks for a flexplate come on !! and close to a grand for a turbo pedestal that probably cost no more than a couple hundred to produce if even that...
i guess i tend to get very opinionated and i let fly sometimes with my responses it is never my intent to stir up hate and disconnect i just try to provide alternative avenues for people who only know what they read in a magazine and dont know about the really great products like the SCT that you don't hear about as much in advertising and such....

Matt @ Spartan
Uh oh, sorry I haven't called yet Matt, got sort of crazy up here. But now that I see this, I'll be spending more money with ya, so it was worth it.
What are you burning up in your TS? THe only issues I have had with the TS are the planetaries and snap ring. After rebuilding with the TransGo shift kit and upgraded AFTERMARKET snap ring, haven't had a problem again. I have that on 2 of mine and the other is stock, for now.
