I was just looking over the tech folder article on the ccv reroute b/c I am planning to do this while I have the week off from work and the pictures aren't there when you click the links. Just an FYI, I'm pretty sure I can figure it out without the pics. -Tim
they haven't worked for a while and i was planning on doing this mod also. Just like the pics to follow sometimes. That way i know i'm doing things right.
It's pretty much easy hell.. You don't really need photo's..
What you need
- Tools to take the intake off
- 1/2" PVC Cap
- 30min Epoxy
- 6-20ft of 3/4" Heater Hose (depending on where you want to go)
- Hose Clamps
1. Remove the entire intake assembly.
2. Under the intake you'll see the CCV hose that goes to the D/S Valve cover. There's a connector on the valve that the CCV hose is clamp to, rotate that 90* and pull it out of the Vent box.
3. Break the metal clamps off both ends of the hose.
4. Remove the hoses from the 90* elbow that goes into the Vent Box, and from the Intake.
5. Look in the intake, you will see the point shaped piping that creates the (effect, forgot name). What you do is pull that entire section out of the intake so you can cut that top off. You don't want anything sticking up in the middle of the intake.
6. Put that pipe back into the Intake, take the PVC cap and fill the inside of it with Epoxy.. Slam that PVC cap onto the bottom of the plastic hose you just stuffed back into the intake.
7. Connect the 3/4" Heater Hose to the 90* elbow (Vent box Elbow) and secure it with a hose clamp. Put the 90* elbow back on the vent box, twist it 90* and secure it. Route the hosing..
8. Reassemble the Intake system (after the Epoxy dries)
That's it.. :-P It's lot easier then that CCV write up which was waaaaaay crazy to read..
