well the savings with solar/ wind takes nearly 10 years to start paying for itself. But it does give more property value at resale. People like that they can save money right away with a property that is already going green.
my neighbor/previous landlord has some interesting in-floor heating systems. in his shop he has built a big wood stove with a big water tank right above it. the fire gets going strong, then he turns on a pump which circulates the hot water through his in-floor pipes. works real slick. in his house he has it running off a hot water heater. pretty simple and inexpensive to set up.
Sherm the problem your landlord would have is if power went out for any length of time of 5 or more hours. With just water the lines can freeze and burst. That is why you should have Glycol in the lines it won't freeze and protects the lines from corrosion also.
that should be correct glen, but he's been in his house/shop for almost 30 years now and haven't had a hitch until this year when the water heater kicked the can.
