My new driveway, which we put in becuase the old was to steep, was covered in ice and my buddy went down before me wiht his plow down and had no problem but i hit the ice started sliding and hit a snow bank and up on a dirt mound and finally hit the tree. then i was on oposite tires so i couldnt get out. finally my buddy pulled me out wiht is 05 350 PSD. I orderd a new chrome bumper and directional so hopefully those come in soon. So any advice on removing the bumper would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
An extra hand just to make it easier. It can be a one man job but extra hands never hurt. Be sure to check the sensors tho....and disconnect the batteries just in case so you don't activate the airbags.
When you're "up on opposite tires" try starting out with the wheels spinning a bit, then hold the steady pressure on the throttle while slowly applying the brakes.
This acts like a poor man's limited slip and will sometimes get you unstuck.
You didn't say which bumper, but I can tell you don't have to disconnect the batteries and both bumpers are an easy one made job as I have had both of mine off several times by myself. As you found out by how easy it bent they are very thin metal and don't weigh very much. Good luck with that driveway as winter is going to be here for awhile, may want to wait 'til spring for the bumper, you don't want to buy a third bumper.
Redford i never thought about doing that its a really good idea.
truckeemtnfords i was looking today and it doesnt look to bad of a job your right but im not gonna wait i hate driving around wiht my bumper and light like that. its the front bumper
