i have a 95 i6300 with a e4od and i had tranny fluid pouring out from my bell housing so i replaced the front seal pump and now just put the transmissoin back in and the fluid is still pouring out? what could be wrong?
Get a bottle of "Lucas transmission fix" add the whole bottle following the directions. (Do not over fill it)
I have used it on a couple of trannys, 2-broncoII and one F-250 with a ED04. All had front seal leaks and it completely stopped the leak in each case never to return.
Keeping in mind it will only stop the leak if the seal has hardened a little over time, it will soften the seal and make pliable again but if part of the seal is gone or it has physical damage of any kind it can't fix that and you will have to drop the tranny and replace the seal.
Give it a try, 24 oz bottle is about ten bucks.
OH and yea, like yours each one I tried it on had fluid literally pouring, running out on the ground while the motor idled.
I asked you how it shifted to find out if the sensors in the tranny had reported to the computer some slippage had or was occurring and defaulted the pump's pressure to "high" to prevent further damage. If so you would feel it in all shifts.
If it was shifting harsh in only one gear but not the others it would indicate a valve or spring problem in the value body for that particular gear and not a slippage problem.
Had the pump defaulted to high it may cause the seal to leak.
Check the computer for codes.
You can still try the lucas, it may or may not help depending on whats going on with the tranny or if you damaged the seal when you put it back in.
The trucks I used it on had sat for a long time and the seals hardened. After driving them for a short time afterwards the seals started to leak. Lucas stopped those leaks.
Lucas is only a bandaid......is makes your seals more pliable yes but it also swells them up and under more than normal heat it can blow them out as well......

“Band aid” or not, all I can say is it has lasted for several years on the first bronco 2 I tried it in and is driven daily by the guy I sold it to. Myself after all this time and it still doesn't leak, I'd have to call that a "permanent" repair.
And yes I did tell him about how it had leaked and what I did and he wanted it anyway (friend of mine). In fact had I known it was going to last this long I would have asked for more cash for it!
The other two I put it in haven’t been all that long really, little over a year for one and only a couple of months on the other.
As with anything time will tell.
But if a little “juice” will get me a year or so of extended use without having to drop an otherwise good tranny, I’ll take it.
The length of the fix is a good thing for people (like me) who have other things to spend money on (ie bills,utilities,etc.)......it is still just a band aid hiding a bigger problem.....if it works it works...If it lasts a while then it does......some people have more luck than others....
thanks guys ill try to get a bottle of that lucas and yes i did check the torqe converter and it didnt have any cracks or anything. hopefully this works
